Exploring Line Project #2: Bubble Drawing

Want to draw colorful bubbles? Here's how.

Materials

  • Black paper
  • White chalk pencil
  • Chalk pastels

Tools

  • Round objects for tracing, in different sizes (I used a round cardboard protractor, both inside and outside, a leftover cardboard roll from a roll of duct tape, and the lid off of a spray can)

Instructions

  1. Using the chalk pencil and your round objects, trace circles of different sizes all over the paper. Make them overlap.

  2. Using different colors of chalk pastel, make parallel curved lines just inside of the outlines of your bubbles.

  3. Using a white chalk pastel, make tiny marks in each of your bubbles to make reflections.
  4. Now you've made a bubble drawing!
